Is Glass Tile installed differently than ceramic tile?
It is recommended that both, Glass Tile and Glass Mosaic  (sheets of small tiles mounted on a backing) are installed, similar to ceramic tiles, but use a quality latex fortified White Portland Cement thinset mortar. Never use a mastic cement because this type of adhesive will never completely dry and set up behind the glass tiles.

How do you cut Glass Tile?
Always remember that you are working with glass and the hazards within.
Set up away from any walking areas and use a throw away drop cloth to catch any shards and slivers of glass. A continuous wheel water saw is the best method and is similar to cutting porcelain tiles in technique. The main difference is that any cut tiles will have sharp edges and they should be ground and polished.
A wheeled nipper may also be used but it is not as handy to work with. Once you have made your scribe mark, place the wheel in the center of the line and squeeze the handles gently. With glass, it is not the force you exert on the glass that breaks it, but the heat from the carbide wheel!
